Gardner has served on the side of the angels ever since taking the mantle of Green Lantern. After his Power Ring was taken from him, he took up the identity of Warrior, using his newly-discovered abilities to fight crime. Brash and self-centered, he has walked a thin line with the rest of the world's superhero community, eventually being shunned by the JLA. Following his death during the war with Imperiex, will he be able to resist the tempation of seeking vengance against those who sent him to die?

One of the dark princes of Hell, Neron has nearly defeated the heroes of Earth many times in the past. In the wake of Imperiex's destruction, he has an opportunity to pile more suffering on humanity… and Neron never lets an opportunity for evil pass him by. Now, to complete his plan to make himself a Hell on Earth, he only needs an accomplice.

The last son of the planet Krypton, Kal-El has long been the Earth's most formidable line of defense against the forces of evil. Following the chaos caused by Imperiex, he finds himself doubting his abilities more than ever. Can even the Man of Steel do enough against the forces of Hell?

They are Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Superman, their Kryptonian leader. Wonder Woman, the mighty Amazon princess. Flash, the fastest man on Earth. Green Lantern, artist-turned-hero. The Martian Manhunter, the heart of the team. And Plastic Man, the comedy relief. Following the death of Aquaman at the hands of an Imperiex probe, the JLA is still trying to cope without him. They remain, as ever, ready to answer the call of justice.
The Justice Society of America
The world's oldest superteam, the JSA's recent revival has paid amazing tribute to the legacy left by their predecessors. Recently, with the help of their reserve members, they took down Imperiex's main power supply, a determining factor in the defeat of the alien conquerors. But will the legacy be able to stop Neron?
The Mystics
A group of loners by choice, Zatanna, Dr. Occult, Deadman, and the Phantom Stranger, were gathered by Batman and the Spectre to help them stop Neron's onslaught. Bent on destroying the dark prince, they would gladly walk into Hell itself to do so.
The SpectreThe Spectre
As Green Lantern, Hal Jordan was once one of the greatest heroes in the universe, but after the destruction of his hometown, he began using his great power for evil deeds. Granted the chance to redeem himself by Heaven, he has been bestowed with the power of the Spectre, the living embodiment of God's wrath. He has only a fraction of understanding about his new power, but he has sworn to use it to free the world of evil.
